Mossberg 500 Turkey Thug Gun

In this video, we review the Mossberg 500 Turkey Thug Shotgun. I bought this shotgun for my OK turkey hunt found over at WildernessMaster.com (the first part can be found here).

As we like to do at TheGaGG.com, our review will include the “Good, Bad and Ugly” of this product.

Take a look at the video for the full review.

Recommendation:

We are a raving fan of this gun! It is a great shotgun base (500) with a long lineage and a successful history. The Mossberg 500 Turkey Thug Shotgun is way more than just a turkey gun and it is one of the more reliable shotguns that you can buy. This is a definite BUY!

The Good

  • Mossberg 500 (that says a lot!)
  • Great “package” – it came pretty much complete and ready to roll
  • Hydrodip camo coating
  • 2/1 fiber optic sights (different colors!)
  • XX full choke
  • Sling and hand grip
  • Stock shell holder (and it is removable!)
  • “Phe-freaking-nominal” durability and reliability

The Bad

  • Front sling attachment point requires sling removal for disassembly (minor)
  • Standard 500 safety position + pistol grip = NO JOY (a bit more significant)

The Ugly

  • None!
